A note about my collection and rating scale. My wife and I went on a "simple living" kick about five years ago and are still working on it. Essentially, it means that I own what I need to take care of 90% of eventualities and the rest of the time beg, borrow or just do without. In game terms, I pretty much only hang on to the stuff that I play frequently. My days of buying games because "you never know when you'll need to have a 3-player maritime trading game with blind bidding for conflict resolution," or "It's a limited print run; they might sell out," are long gone. The stuff I own I play, play and play some more. My 8's 9's and 10's are the only survivors. 7 or less, I'll play, but it'll be your copy. As far as my tastes go, I like wargames that model the span of control you experience as the commander at that level; no monster battalion scale eastern front simulations in my collection. I prefer simple over complex, short play times over long ones, and a good system over shiny bits. If you are ever in Jacksonville drop me a line; maybe we can play!
